Erika Skulte is a versatile dancer based in New York City. She started training at The Dance Academy of Loudoun (DAL) in Leesburg, VA at the age of 3. She is trained in all styles of dance including ballet, pointe, contemporary, hip hop, jazz, jazz funk, lyrical, tap, heels, musical theater, latin, acro & tumbling. She also cheered on her varsity cheer competitive team as a flyer in high school an earned 2nd Team All-State as a Freshman.
As a BFA Commercial Dance major at Pace University she trains with faculty and guest choreographers including Lauren Gaul, Scott Jovovich, Rachel Leigh Dolan, Miles Keeney, Bo Park, Boy Boi, Michael Crawford, Suzi Taylor, Corey Snide and more. She takes class at Broadway Dance Center, Brickhouse, Peridance, Ripley Grier Studios, and Steps on Broadway every chance she gets to get even more training.
Most recently, Erika performed in Bo Park's show "Gravity" with SHINSA The Collective dance company. She was honored to be a part of Miles Keeney's "Crash Out" and Bo Park's "Mile High" in Pace's Dance Out Loud this spring, as well as expanded her skillset as an Assistant Dance Captain for Rachel Leigh Dolan's "Sinnerman." She performed in Destiny Rising at The Joyce Theater directed by Joe Lanteri two years in a row working with choreographers Grace Buckley and Ida Saki.
Erika extends her dance artistry to choreography and dance education. She has choreographed the Virginia Hearts Basketball Half-Time Show, and advanced-level competitive solos. She has earned several hip hop choreography awards as assistant choreographer together with Neo Lynch. While in NYC, she has assisted Eric Delgado and Kai Jmari Sappleton, and is starting to offer pop-up classes of her own in NYC!
When not dancing, Erika spends her time with family and friends, traveling, and enjoying the sites of New York City with an iced coffee in her hand!
